UPDATE: Elk Grove police arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the deaths of his parents, the department announced Monday.
Mark Navarette now sits in the Sacramento County Jail on two murder charges, jail records show.
Original story: A homicide is under investigation in Elk Grove after two people were found dead inside a home on Friday, according to police.
The Elk Grove Police Department said officers responded to a home on Crosscourt Way after a person reported they failed several times to contact their family and something seemed suspicious about that.
Officers met the reporting person at the home, police said. When they entered the home, a man and woman were both found dead.
Detectives are investigating both deaths as homicides, according to police.
