2 shot, killed in Elk Grove home, family member arrested, police say
The two men killed have not yet been identified.
ELK GROVE, Calif. — Two men killed during a dispute between family members Monday morning in Elk Grove have been identified.
Russell Joseph Battaglia, 51, and Christian Battaglia, 19, were allegedly shot and killed during a family argument by their relative, 18-year-old Noah Spencer Battaglia, around 5:30 a.m. in a home on the 8200 block of Triplefin Way, according to the Elk Grove Police Department.
Russell Battaglia was the suspect’s father and Christian Battaglia was his older brother, police said.
Noah Battaglia reportedly left the scene before officers arrived and was located two hours later in South Sacramento, authorities said.
He was arrested and booked Monday evening into Sacramento County Main Jail, corrections records show. He faces at least one murder charge and is ineligible for bail.
Battaglia was arraigned Wednesday and expected to appear late August in Sacramento County Superior Court for a mandatory settlement conference, court records show.
