Alameda County DA declines to file charges in homicide
After reviewing the evidence, prosecutors declined to pursue charges.
FREMONT, Calif. — The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to file charges related to Fremont’s first homicide case of 2025, according to the Fremont Police Department.
The incident occurred on June 20 around 6:42 p.m. on Overacker Avenue, where one person was fatally shot and another injured during an argument.
FPD’s investigation involved witness interviews, video reviews, and search warrants.
Authorities identified all individuals involved, linking the shooting to an ongoing dispute over a parking space near train tracks.
After reviewing the evidence, prosecutors declined to pursue charges.
No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been named.
