Daughter of Bay Area radio figure faces felony charges for alleged ‘Bachelor’ paternity scheme

Laura Owens, the daughter of popular Bay Area radio host Ronn Owens of “The Ronn Owens Program,” was indicted by a grand jury in Maricopa County, Ariz. on May 1 for multiple felony charges related to an alleged paternity scheme involving “Bachelor” star Clayton Echard.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell’s office began investigating Laura Owens in July of 2024 at the request of a Superior Court Judge. The request stemmed from “several inconsistent statements” made by Laura Owens during a paternity hearing involving Owens Echard, Mitchell said in a statement Tuesday.
A grand jury has indicted Owens on the following charges:
One count of fraudulent schemes and artifices
One count of forgery
Four counts of perjury
One count of tampering with physical evidence
