Fire crews contain 68-acre blaze outside Travis Air Force Base in Vacaville
According to officials, the fire was reported in the area of Northgate and Canon Road just outside the gates of Travis Air Force Base.
TAFB, Calif. — Crews from across Solano County responded to Vacaville as a vegetation fire burned around 68 acres on Saturday.
According to officials, the fire was reported in the area of Northgate and Canon Road just outside the gates of Travis Air Force Base.
Due to the rapid-fire growth and challenging conditions, the incident escalated to a 4th alarm, which resulted in mutual aid from multiple agencies.
The agencies that responded are Fairfield Fire, City of Vacaville Fire, California Medical Facility Fire, Montezuma FPD, Dixon Fire, Suisun Fire Protection District, Suisun City Fire, and Travis AFB Fire, crews said.
At this time, fire crews said that the suspected cause is believed to be a mylar balloon that contacted nearby power lines.
