MISSION BAY, Calif. — The Golden State Valkyries opened the season at home with an 84-67 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks.
Golden State hit the court for the first game in franchise history on Friday night, making their WNBA debut at a sold-out Chase Center in San Francisco.
Los Angeles went 5-15 in Western Conference action and 8-32 overall during the 2024-25 season.
The Sparks averaged 78.4 points per game last season, 15.0 on free throws and 21.6 from 3-point range.
