Kristi Noem, Russell Vought nominations are advanced by a senate committee

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved both Kristi Noem’s nomination to lead the Department of Homeland Security, as well as Russell Vought’s nomination to lead the Office of Management and Budget.

Noem was approved 13-2, while Vought was approved 8-7. Democratic Sen. John Fetterman said that every Democrat voted against advancing Vought’s nomination.
