Lake Tahoe 4th of July fireworks barge sinking off Incline Beach; show not happening
Powerful storms have hit Lake Tahoe in the first weeks of summer, causing snow and hail.
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The North Truckee Fire Protection District said the beaches are closed and the fireworks planned for Friday night in Incline Village are canceled.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is securing the area and has asked people to report firework debris and unexploded materials around Lake Tahoe.
"Due to damage sustained on the fireworks barge during last night’s storm, the 2025 Incline Village fireworks show has been cancelled," the fire agency posted just after 7 a.m. Friday.
