2 found dead in Granite Bay home killed by family member

GRANITE BAY, Calif. — The Placer County Sheriff's Office identified the man arrested after deputies found his mother and brother dead inside a Granite Bay home.
Josef Meinzer, 36, is believed to have been behind the homicides, the sheriff's office said. He surrendered to deputies at the home on Lou Place around 11:45 a.m.
Deputies went to the home after 8 a.m. after receiving a report of suspicious circumstances. A tactical team and crisis negotiators also responded and made contact with a man, later identified as Meinzer.
The sheriff's office identified the two victims as Janell Meinzer, 67, and Lance Meinzer, 45. Janell was Josef's mother and Lance was his brother.
