Man convicted in 2023 murders of wife, mother-in-law

Phuc Hong Vo, 40, was found guilty of murdering his wife, Tho Ly, and mother-in-law, Que Tran, in Contra Costa County in 2023.
Vo was arrested in March 2024 after police suspected foul play.
Tran’s body was found in the Oakland estuary on September 30, 2023, but Ly’s remains have not been located.
Vo remodeled his home, hid his wife’s car, and left the U.S. for Vietnam after the incidents.
Jurors convicted him on February 18, 2024, of first-degree murder for Tran and second-degree murder for Ly. He faces a life sentence without parole.
