Matthew Muller, 'American Nightmare' kidnapper, arraigned in alleged San Ramon home invasion
Muller pleaded not guilty but is expected to change his plea on Thursday.
MARTINEZ, Calif. — Matthew Muller, convicted for the 2015 kidnapping and sexual assault of Denise Huskins, appeared in Contra Costa County Superior Court on Tuesday facing three felony charges of kidnapping for ransom related to a 2015 San Ramon case.
Muller pleaded not guilty but is expected to change his plea on Thursday.
Muller, currently serving a 40-year sentence in Arizona for the Huskins case, has been linked to several similar crimes.
In January, authorities connected him to the San Ramon home invasion where he allegedly held three people for ransom.
He reportedly confessed to this and other crimes in 2024.
Muller has prior convictions, including 2009 home invasions in Santa Clara County, for which he received two consecutive life sentences, and a 1993 kidnapping case in Sacramento County, adding 11 years to life to his sentence.
