Everyone in the crash had their seatbelts on at the time of the crash, CHP said.
STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — A man died after a series of crashes involving other vehicles in Stanislaus County, the California Highway Patrol Modesto division said Thursday.
A 48-year-old Modesto man driving a 2024 Lexus sedan was traveling westbound on Highway 120 west of Valley Home Road when the driver somehow got into eastbound lanes and hit the side of a 2014 Kenworth combination truck hauling a trailer, CHP said.
The Lexus driver kept going until it hit a 2021 Chevy SUV head-on, CHP said. Officers got the call about the crash around 10:11 p.m. Wednesday. After arriving, emergency personnel sent the man to Oak Valley Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
The man's identity was not released.
The CHP said two other passengers in the Chevy suffered minor injuries. The drivers of the Chevy and the Kenworth were not injured.
Everyone in the crash had their seatbelts on at the time of the crash, CHP said. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
