Ravine Fire burns 40 acres in Penn Valley
At least 40 acres had been burned as of 1:50 p.m., with the fire having a moderate rate of spread, Cal Fire said.
PENN VALLEY, Calif. — A grass fire that sparked Thursday afternoon has burned several acres in the Penn Valley area of Nevada County, the Cal Fire Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit said.
Firefighters by 12:58 p.m. had responded to the Ravine Fire located near McCartney and Long Ravine roads.
At least 40 acres had been burned as of 1:50 p.m., with the fire having a moderate rate of spread, Cal Fire said.
No injuries have been reported. A roadway is helping to contain the fire and the potential threat to a structure has been mitigated.
