Reports: Kings acquire Saric through trade; sign free agent Schröder with 3-year-deal
The latest news surrounding the Kings.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — On what is a busy trade day across the league, the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday are trading Jonas Valanciunas, a player they acquired earlier this year, in exchange for Dario Saric of the Denver Nuggets, according to reports.
Valanciunas joined the Kings in February after the team exchanged Sidy Cissoko and two second-round picks to the Washington Wizards for the 6-foot-11-inch center.
Since joining, Valanciunas has appeared in 32 games with the Kings.
Saric is a 6-foot-10-inch forward-center who was selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 draft. Before playing with the Nuggets, his NBA career included the Warriors, Thunder, Suns, Timberwolves and 76ers.
On the same day that the Valanciunas-Saric trade was confirmed, reports also began to emerge that free agent point guard Dennis Schröder agreed to a three-year deal with the Kings worth $45 million.
This will be Schröder's 10th NBA team, with the last five being in the last two seasons.
Drew Eubanks has been waived by the Los Angeles Clippers and intends to sign a one-year deal with the Sacramento Kings after clearing waivers, per Shams Charania.
