RV shooting in Fremont started with carjacking that "went sideways," ending in death

FREMONT, Calif. — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday morning in Fremont, marking the second such incident involving an RV in just 11 days.
Authorities responded at 10:38 a.m. to Northport Loop W, near Cushing Parkway and west of Interstate 880, after receiving reports of a gunshot wound victim.
The victim had walked out of an RV with a chest wound and was transported in critical condition to a trauma center, where they died.
Officers quickly detained the suspected shooter, who exited the RV as instructed.
The suspect is cooperating with investigators and claimed the shooting resulted from a carjacking that "went sideways."
The investigation remains ongoing.
