WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — A preliminary 2.6-magnitude earthquake struck in the East Bay on Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was 1.4 miles northwest of Walnut Creek.
The small tremblor occurred at 11:16 a.m., USGS said. People reported feeling the shaking near Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek and Lafayette, according to USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” survey.
