SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority reopened the light rail orange line Monday morning, but the rest of the system was still delayed by track inspections after a 17-day workers strike.
The orange line runs from Mountain View to Alum Rock in East San Jose.
A VTA spokesperson says that they are conducting necessary track and wire inspections. According to the VTA, which services 16,000 weekday riders, it's taking longer than expected because copper wiring was stolen from one of the lines.
The discovery was made last week after a judge ordered striking union members to return to work.
The blue and green lines still need to be repaired. It’s not clear how long those repairs will take.
